Here's what you'll need to complete this project:
- Small needle nose pliers
- Various colored beads
- Jewelry making head pins
- 1" fish hook wire earring pieces
Begin by choosing the beads for your earrings.
Feed beads in the order you choose onto a head pin.
Once your beads are on the wire, be sure to allow at least 1/8" for bending.
Push the end of your pin through the hole in the fish hook earring piece
and secure with your needle nose pliers.
we glued two contrasting colored scrap booking card scraps together
and placed holes through them with a stick pin.
Now, here's the cost breakdown:
- Needle nose pliers (ours were purchased previously but you can get them at Dollar Tree!)
- Jewelry Making Head Pins (Dollar Tree, 145 count) - $1
- Fish Hook Wire Earring Pieces (Hobby Lobby, 36 count) - $2.99
- Beads (Hobby Lobby: 3 types chosen- Czech glass beads, medium faceted beads & 4 oz. bag multi-mix of small glass beads) -$7.46
Note: we used approximately half of our beads for six pairs of earrings, a third of our fish hook earring pieces & less than 1/10 of our head pins. Since we already had the pliers, our total per earring set is only.....$.72 !!!
After completing this project, it has us wondering why we haven't been making our own jewelry all along! The next project is on deck, stay tuned....
